The saffron outfit’s performance, along with its allies, in reserved seats also saw a healthy uptick in Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.
Drawing a contrast with the past, he said earlier decades were the dark era of Congress rule, while the last ten years have seen improved governance and stability.

He said, “There was a time when Assam was discussed in the world for its tea. Now, Assam will be recognised by the world not only for tea but also for chips. That day is not far when chip production will begin from Assam’s semiconductor plant. This will develop Assam as a major hub for modern technology. In the coming times, be it phones, cars, TVs, or fridges, all these products will run on chips from Assam. This is our roadmap for a developed Assam.”

Calling the rally turnout an “open declaration,” Modi expressed confidence that the BJP-NDA will secure a third consecutive term in Assam. He also took a swipe at Congress, predicting another electoral defeat for the party.
PM Modi says, “With the blessings of all of you, I received the opportunity to achieve a hat-trick as Prime Minister. With your blessings, I also received the opportunity to hit a hat-trick on this ground. I have come here for the third time. And with your blessings, the government in Assam is also going to achieve a hat-trick.”

Targeting the Congress’ past record, Modi said only three bridges were built over the Brahmaputra in decades, while the current government completed five major bridges in just over a decade, improving connectivity and saving lives.
He said, “Assam has never lacked resources. However, for the sake of power, the Congress divided Assamese society and never allowed the two banks of the Brahmaputra to truly connect. In 60–65 years, Congress built only three bridges over the Brahmaputra, just three in all that time. Due to the lack of bridges, many lives were lost, and generations had to endure great hardship. The double-engine government understood this pain and difficulty, and in just 10–11 years, it has completed five major bridges over the Brahmaputra.”

The Prime Minister credited the BJP-led NDA government for bringing peace and development to the state. Drawing a contrast with the past, he said earlier decades were the dark era of Congress rule, while the last ten years have seen improved governance and stability.
He added that thousands of youth have abandoned violence and joined the mainstream, calling it a sign of Assam’s changing landscape under the “double-engine government.”
He said, “In the past decade, Assam has traversed a long journey of development. These 20-25-year-old youngsters have only witnessed the good governance of BJP-NDA. They have not seen the dark era of Congress rule, when news from Assam was only about bombs, guns, riots, and curfews. The double-engine government has shown Assam a new path to lasting peace. Thousands of Assam’s sons and daughters have, in the past decade, put down the gun and connected to a new future.”
Referring to the BJP’s newly released manifesto, Modi called it a “Mangal Patra”, promising development, cultural preservation, and strict action against illegal encroachments.
He said, “…The Assam BJP released a splendid manifesto yesterday. It was Tuesday yesterday, and this manifesto released on Tuesday is set to bring more ‘Mangal’ (auspiciousness) to Assam… This is the ‘Mangal Patra’ that arrived on Tuesday.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted key poll promises, including the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), protection of tribal rights, and safeguarding Assam’s cultural identity. He said measures are being taken to ensure dignity and safety for women.
Earlier in the day, Modi visited a tea garden in Dibrugarh, interacted with women workers, and even plucked tea leaves. He praised tea garden families for their contribution to Assam’s global identity.
We are very proud of the efforts of each and every tea garden family. Their hardwork and perseverance have enhanced Assam’s pride.
